Ronnie Haran Mellen was the Whiskey A Go-Go's original talent booker and manager. She spotted the Doors at the London Fog, another club, and recommended them to owner Elmer Valentine for the house band at the Whiskey. She became their unofficial manager and coaxed Jac Holtzman, president of Elektra Records, to come see The Doors which led to a contract. She was also the unofficial manager of the rock band Love. She took the photo that graces the back cover of their legendary album, "Forever Changes."
She owns and operates Santa Barbara Location Services LLC, established in 1983, which provides filming locations, permitting services and location scouting for still and film production. They also specialize in renting luxury Santa Barbara homes for events.
Photography has been a lifelong passion of Ronnie's. Many of her abstracts and historical rock and roll photos are curated here and available for sale.
